Introduction to Banner            

Target Audience:
All potential Banner users (not required for Finance users)

Course Overview: The Introduction to Banner training course will familiarize you with Banner, emphasizing forms, menus, and creating queries. This course is designed as a first exposure to Banner.  Its goal is to familiarize you with the Banner interface and demonstrate navigation through the modules. What is learned in this class can be applied to all the Banner modules and is not specific to one module.

Introduction to Banner training is a prerequisite for Banner training.
Note: This class is not required for Finance training.

Banner Finance
Introduction to Banner Finance - FIN101 A&B
This is a 2-part class and both are required for access.

Target Audience: All potential Banner Finance users, including departmental staff responsible for entering requisitions, querying accounting information, managing funds, or initiating financial paperwork that is submitted to Financial Services .  This course is a prerequisite for all other Banner Finance courses.

Course Overview:  This course will focus on navigating through the Finance Module, understanding the relationship between Banner Finance and the other modules; the components of the Banner Finance module; the basic structure of the Chart of Accounts; the relationship between the Banner “index” and other elements of the Chart of Accounts; and learning how to query on basic accounting information such as available budget, cash balance, and transaction details.

Receiving – FPO201-B

Target Audience:
Employees with departmental purchasing responsibilities including requisitioning and receiving.

 Course Overview: This course will focus on understanding the relationship between the Purchasing module and the other Finance modules; creating purchasing documents; tracking purchasing documents through the system; and entering receiving on purchased goods and services.

Finance Departmental Administration – FDA301

Target Audience: Employees with departmental financial responsibilities, including grants administration and budget management responsibilities.

Course Overview: Department Administrators have a wide range of responsibilities.  This session will provide training on the most prevalent areas using Banner as a tool.  Querying the system to find data specific to general fund (state) and grant budgets and specific transactions will be covered in depth.  This course will also include more in-depth searching skills in Banner Finance, introduce Data Extract to Excel, e~Print reports and introduce several other tricks related to using Banner.

Finance One-on-One-FINONE

Target Audience: Banner Finance users who feel they need additional one-on-one instruction.

Course Overview: A Banner Finance team member is available to come to your office for more detailed, one-on-one instruction in all aspects of Banner Finance.

 Finance 101 is a prerequisites for this session.

Banner Student
Banner Student - BANDA1-Degree Audit System (CAPP) Orientation

Target Audience:  All departments within the College of Arts & Sciences. Departments from any college that are not yet using the Degree Audit system for degree requirements.

Course Overview: The Degree Audit System Orientation course will familiarize you with the new Degree Audit System (CAPP) in Banner.  This hands-on course will include how to generate a degree evaluation, how to interpret the degree evaluation, and how the What-If Analysis function can be used.  During this training session test cases will be used and your departmental degree requirements will be verified.

Important: In order to take full advantage of this scheduled time, please bring ID numbers for at least five (5) students who are majors within your department.  These students will be used as test cases during our session.

Banner Student - BANDA2-Degree Audit System (CAPP) Testing and Verification

Target Audience:  All departments within the College of Arts & Sciences. Departments from any college that are not yet using the Degree Audit system for degree requirements.

Course Overview: The Degree Audit System Testing and Verification course is a continuation of the Orientation course.  This hands-on course is designed to discuss feedback after testing, assist with additional testing and to answer questions related to specific degree requirements.  During this training session the testing cases will be reviewed and departmental degree requirements will be verified.

Important: In order to take full advantage of this scheduled time, please bring ID numbers for at least thirty (30) students who were used as test cases during testing.  During this session the degree evaluations for these students will be reviewed.
